Happy Birthday Melissa!

Melissa is 7. Wow. I have certainly enjoyed sweet Melissa being in our family! She is a miracle! I remember being on bed-rest with her thinking I was miscarrying again. The Lord strengthened her little body and knew we needed a Melissa Christine Jungeberg in our family. I'm so thankful!!!

We celebrated Melissa's birthday right on her day. It was going to be a busy day so she had fun opening up her presents before school.
This cross is something that she wanted to hang on her wall in her "new room." (We are re-doing the girls room.)

Then we took her out to the garage to open her big present, a new bike! Still in her jammies but had to give it a try!

Ready for her first day at school as a SEVEN year old!

After school, I had a van full of girls for a fun spa party. Once we got home, I had a nail painting station set up at the table. That was their first stop. After nails dried, they got to pick out some nail stickers to put on top of their polish. Then we went to the hair feather station. As I put in a hair feather for one of the girls, the others got to soak their feet in a foot bath in the tub. I had a big "Happy birthday" with each of Lissa's friends names written on the shower wall in bath crayon. After the hair feather and foot bath station, we went to the temporary tattoo station that was full of princesses and rainbows to choose from. Last but not least, we added some glitter hair spray and glitter body spray to top off the spa party.

As I was planning all the spa treatments, I wanted to figure out a way to teach the girls about inner beauty as well. So I printed out the verse,
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment
such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.
Rather it should be that of your inner self,
the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is of great worth in God's sight." 1 Peter 3:4

Melissa is used to me saying that it's her heart I want to be beautiful! But it was fun to see the girls faces as I read the verse to them! I wanted to use a verse for each station but me being the only "spa worker" I was grateful to share this verse which was my most important one. I also got to talk about friendships. Hoping to encourage them to value each friendship. It was a great time.

Of course we had some cupcakes!

Here is the sweet bunch of girls! Praying for God's love to shine on them and through them!

Just loved reading this and seeing the pictures of all these little girls they are growing so fast. Melissa's birthday outfit is almost exactly like Skyler's puffy skirt and all. What a wonderful mother you are teaching these girls about beauty. Ang
