We had a lot of fun going on our Mini Van Express this year. (Click here to read more about it) I printed out the golden tickets and hid them around the house for the kids to go find.
As well as going to look at lights around town, each child got to pick out someone to take a plate of cookies to. With cookie plates packed we set off ready to deliver our goodies and find some neat lights around town.
From a friends suggestion, we also delivered some cookies to the Salvation Army bell ringers at Walmart. It was so fun to see their faces light up when we handed them a zip-lock bag of Christmas cookies!
On our advent calendar, I will sneak a post it note to the back of one of the cards with a fun activity to do as a family. Some are as simple as, Read a Christmas Story as a Family, to visiting Bethlehem. Now that the Christmas season is over, the kids all voted that the Mini-Van Express was their favorite activity we did this year. This idea is a keeper!
